Campaign Story
The Karibbean restaurant, based in Lebanon, NH, serves up fresh Haitian & Jamaican dishes every day. Owned and operated by Carline Roberge and Balvin Bowen, they also offer delicious food at the Lebanon Farmers Market and an arts & craft shop.
"The Karibbean restaurant in Lebanon is far from Haiti and Jamaica, but you wouldn’t know it by tasting the food. You really can’t go wrong here, but a standout is the jerk pork served with Haitian-style rice and beans (diri kole). There’s also jerk chicken, stewed oxtail, fish steamed with butter, onion, garlic, coconut milk and okra, Caribbean pumpkin soup and more great dishes to try. Or maybe just stop in for your morning caffeine dose with their authentic Haitian coffee"
~ New Hampshire Magazine's Best of NH 2022 Pizzerias & Ethnic Food Restaurants
"Carline considers her family and friends her top priorities in life, along with providing support for organizations in her native Haiti. For example, proceeds from the sale of artworks and crafts in Karibbean Coffee Shop support tuition payments for Haitian school children, and for purchasing much needed supplies for the general hospital in Haiti. Carline regularly hosts her children’s friends, serving up whatever food fits the bill for the day. 'My door is always open for friends and family to visit and share a meal. No appointment needed!'”
Your support will help Carline and Balvin move forward with a new location, offering you a better experience with ample parking. They'll use the funds raised to purchase and install an outdoor grease trap.

Great News from The Karibbean
Balvin Bowen of The Karibbean in Lebanon, NH would like to share the good news of a successful crowdfunding campaign and send his many thanks to all folks who contributed. He raised close to $1o,000!
Balvin told us that he had heard about fundraising through websites like GoFundMe, but had never worked with something like The Local Crowd’s crowdfunding platform that helped reach new donors and kept supporters in the loop with updates throughout the campaign. He will install a new grease trap at the restaurant and make a few other renovations.
The community’s support means a lot to him, and he is excited to welcome folks back to the restaurant to sample some of his delicious local food once these installations are complete.
